Who We Are

“United We Stand, Divided We Ambush” - Black Harrier Motto

The Black Harriers started as a small community group in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a simple goal — bring Halo: Flashpoint to the tabletop and build something worth showing up for.

We started as a handful of players in Albuquerque, New Mexico who had fallen in love with Halo: Flashpoint and decided that the best way to enjoy it was to build a community we wanted to be a part of. We started meeting at Ettin Games, and over time the group grew and the events got more structured and what began as casual games between friends became something with real shape and real purpose.

From those early sessions came demo days designed to bring in brand new players and Paint and Take events that gave hobbyists a reason to show up even when they were not ready to compete and a full organized play calendar that gave veteran players something to work toward. The community responded and the roster grew and we earned our official Mantic Pathfinder supported status which gave everything we were doing a foundation to build on. Now with our first sister chapter taking root in the Twin Cities, Minnesota the Black Harriers are something bigger than a Monday night game group and we are proud of how far it has come and excited about where it is going.

Driven By Passion

What drives the Black Harriers is not complicated. We love Halo: Flashpoint and we want as many people as possible to experience what makes it great. We want the person who has never played a tabletop game in their life to sit down at one of our demo days and walk away genuinely excited about something new. We want the longtime Halo fan who has never explored the miniature hobby to find out that painting a Spartan is one of the most satisfying things you can do with a free afternoon. We want the competitive player to have a well run organized event to sharpen their game against and we want the casual player to have a relaxed and friendly night at the table with no pressure attached to it whatsoever.

This community exists to be a positive space for anyone who enjoys Halo: Flashpoint or is curious about it and that means showing up with patience and enthusiasm every single time because growing this game and this playerbase is something we genuinely care about and not just something we do because it is on the schedule.

A young woman in a colorful tie-dye shirt is sitting at the front, and a young man in an orange shirt next to her is making a shaka hand gesture. Multiple other individuals are seated around the table, smiling and engaging with the gaming materials.

What It Means To Be A Harrier

Being a Harrier is not about how many games you have won or how long you have been in the hobby. It is about showing up with a good attitude, a love for the game, and a genuine willingness to make the experience better for the people around you. That is it. That is the whole thing.

If you are in Albuquerque, New Mexico our home chapter meets every Monday at Ettin Games from 4 to 10pm. Walk in, introduce yourself, and you will be welcomed. We run demo days and Paint and Take events on a regular schedule so even if competitive play is not your thing there is always something worth coming out for. Check our events page to see what is coming up and come find us.

If you are in the Twin Cities, Minnesota our sister chapter is actively growing and building out its own event calendar and local presence. Same spirit, same standards, new city. Keep an eye on the chapters page for updates on events and location details as things develop.

If you do not live near either chapter you can still be part of what we are building here. Our website is open to anyone and is a space for Flashpoint players everywhere to talk strategy, share hobby progress, ask questions, and connect with people who love this game as much as you do. The Harrier Dispatch is published for the whole community regardless of where you live and everything on this site including The Armory and our commission service exists to serve Flashpoint players beyond just our two local areas. Being a Harrier from a distance is a completely real and completely valid thing and we are glad to have you.

What makes someone a Harrier is simple. Compassion for your fellow players, joy for the game, and a willingness to help others learn, grow, and have a great time at the table. If that sounds like you then you already belong here.

Interested In Starting A Chapter In Your Area?

If you are passionate about Halo: Flashpoint and want to get a consistent group of players together in your city we would love to hear from you. The Black Harriers chapter system is simply about connecting like minded players and giving local communities a framework to organize around whether that means casual Monday night games, regular demo days, or full competitive events. It is about getting the game on the table and building something fun in your area.

To be clear this is separate from the official Mantic Games Pathfinder program which is its own application process managed directly by Mantic. If you are interested in becoming an official Pathfinder and running sanctioned organized play events in your area we strongly encourage you to apply through Mantic's website as that program is an incredible resource for dedicated community organizers.

What we are talking about here is simply gathering players, finding a home store, and building a group worth showing up for. If that is something you want to do in your city reach out to us through the contact page and let's talk about what that could look like. The more communities playing Halo: Flashpoint the better it is for everyone at every table everywhere.
